A Lenten Sermon Series at Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church

This Lent, we’ll be exploring a simple but challenging question:

What if our households are not just private spaces to manage, but mission stations God uses to bring His love into the world?

In our Lenten series, Beacons of God’s Love, we’ll reflect on how faith takes shape in ordinary life—at home, at work, and in our neighborhoods. Rather than treating discipleship as something that happens only at church, this series will invite us to consider how God has already placed each of us, and how He calls us to live faithfully right where we are.

Through Scripture, we’ll explore what it means to:

• live with purpose in the places God has sent us

• practice faith before we proclaim it

• allow our habits, work, and use of possessions to reflect our allegiance to Christ

• open our lives to neighbors in ways that are real, costly, and faithful

  
  

Lent is a season of repentance, re-ordering, and renewed attention to God. This series is not about doing more or being perfect, but about allowing Jesus to more fully shape our daily lives—so that when others encounter us, they experience something of His love.

The series will culminate on Easter Sunday with the good news that the resurrection does not remove us from ordinary life, but renews us for it.
