You need God’s wisdom in your life. Perhaps you’re facing a major decision. Maybe you live with a persistent, ongoing challenge. Or you have dilemmas about relationships, work, family, calling, finances, health, or the next season of life.
During our July Sabbath month, we are creating intentional space for seeking God's wisdom.
Throughout the month of July, we invite you to identify one area of life where you are actively seeking God's guidance. Rather than rushing toward an answer, we will spend a month immersing ourselves in the wisdom of Proverbs and learning to listen for the voice of God.

Why Proverbs?
The Book of Proverbs is Scripture's handbook for wise living. It addresses the everyday realities of life: relationships, speech, work, money, character, humility, decision-making, and integrity. Proverbs teaches us that wisdom is not simply knowing more information. Wisdom is learning to hear God’s voice and respond faithfully.
God continues to speak through His Word.
As we spend time in Proverbs each day, the Holy Spirit will call attention to particular verses, illuminate specific themes, and help us recognize wisdom that applies directly to our circumstances.
What Are We Asking People To Do?
At the beginning of the month, participants will identify one question, challenge, decision, or area of life where they desire God's wisdom. Then each day they will:
1. Read the assigned Proverbs passage.
2. Pray and listen.
3. Record any proverb, phrase, theme, or insight that seems particularly significant.
4. Note how that wisdom may connect to the area where they are seeking God's guidance.
The goal is not to find a single "magic verse" that answers every question.Instead, we are creating space to notice patterns, themes, and repeated wisdom that God may be bringing to our attention.
What Do We Hope People Will Experience?
Our expectation is that over the course of the month, participants will accumulate dozens of Proverbs that resonate with their situation. As those verses accumulate, we hope that each participant will discover wise and encouraging direction for addressing the issue they’re facing.
We believe Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, brings God's Word to mind, illuminates Scripture, and helps us discern faithful next steps. By the end of the month, our hope is that participants will have greater clarity, deeper wisdom, and increased confidence about the area where they have been seeking God's guidance.
Most importantly, we hope they will discover that discernment is not merely about finding answers. It is about learning to walk with God, listen to His voice, and trust His wisdom one step at a time.
Sabbath Month Schedule:
Sabbath Month is a kind of “retreat in place” – we intentionally design worship to be different from what we experience during the rest of the year.
For the four Sundays of July, we’ll have one service at 10:00 AM. We’ll observe the Sacrament of Communion every week. We’ll experience testimonies and stories of God at work in our community.
For the Proverbs Advance, we’ll also provide a simple devotional booklet that will help you record your insights and get the most out of the month long experience.
Begin July with a question. Finish July with a collection of God’s wisdom.
