Thank You to the Gideons of Southwest Ohio
We are grateful to the Gideons of Southwest Ohio for hosting a wonderful pastors’ luncheon. The gathering offered local pastors a welcome time of fellowship, encouragement, and prayer—and it reflected something we deeply value about the Gideons’ ministry: they support the people who serve local churches as well as sharing God’s Word throughout their communities.
Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church is delighted to partner with The Gideons International through the support of our Mission Team. This partnership is one of the ways our congregation joins in mission beyond our own walls, helping people encounter the hope of Jesus Christ through Scripture and personal witness.
Who are the Gideons?
The Gideons International is a ministry of Christian business and professional men. Gideons encourage one another in faith, share the Gospel through personal relationships, and place and distribute Bibles and New Testaments. Although many people know the Gideons from Bibles found in hotel rooms, their Scripture ministry also reaches schools, colleges, hospitals, medical offices, jails, prisons, and members of the military and public-safety community.
How do the Gideons serve churches and pastors?
Local Gideons build relationships with churches, pray for pastors, and encourage congregations in evangelism and outreach. Pastor-appreciation gatherings like this luncheon are one expression of that ministry. They create space for church leaders to be refreshed, connect with one another, and remember that they are not alone in their calling.
Gideons also help churches extend their Gospel impact by equipping Christian men for leadership and personal witness and by opening doors for Scripture distribution in the community and around the world.
How does MSPC partner with the Gideons?
Our Mission Team provides financial support for the Gideons’ work. We are glad to help make Scripture available to people who may be searching for hope, guidance, or a first encounter with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are also thankful for the prayer, encouragement, and friendship local Gideons offer pastors and congregations throughout Southwest Ohio.
Is there a Gideon Bible app?
Yes. The free Gideon Bible App makes the complete Bible available wherever you go. It includes the English Standard Version and King James Version, more than 2,200 language translations, audio options, Bible helps, notes, bookmarks, and highlighting tools. We commend it as a helpful resource for daily Scripture reading, listening, study, and encouragement.
