Join us for our Advent and Christmas series:The Hope of Christmas, a series inspired by Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
Just as Ebenezer Scrooge was visited by the past, present, and future that awakened him to life, God invites us in Advent to awaken our hearts to the transforming hope of Christ — the One who was, who is, and who is to come.
Sunday November 30 (9:00am Contemporary Service, 11:00am Traditional Service)
Luke 1:57-80. The Hope of Christmas Past. God’s long-promised salvation breaks through after centuries of silence and longing. The hope of Christmas is rooted in God’s faithfulness to His promises. What God began long ago through Abraham and David now comes to fulfillment in Christ. Advent invites us to remember that our hope is not wishful thinking but confidence in a God who always keeps His word.
Sunday December 7 (9:00am Contemporary Service, 11:00am Traditional Service)
Colossians 1:9-23. The Hope of Christmas Present. Hope isn’t just a memory or a future promise — it’s a living Presence. Christ comes to dwell with us and within us, transforming ordinary life into sacred ground. Communion embodies this truth: Christ is not a distant idea but a present Savior who feeds, forgives, and fills us today.
Sunday December 14 (9:00am Contemporary Service, 11:00am Traditional Service)
Romans 8:18-39. The Hope of Christmas Future. Advent points forward as well as back. While creation groans, awaiting redemption, we find hope in the Triune God. Hope in the Spirit who is with us now; hope that the Father will turn all things to good; and hope in the Son whose love will never forsake us.
Sunday December 21 (10:00am Holiday Service featuring Children's Christmas Pageant and our Chancel Choir cantata)
Psalm 98:1-9. The Hope of Joy. The joy of Christmas is clearly seen through the eyes of a child — open, trusting, and joyful. The joy of Christmas is clearly heard through music, both thoughtful and triumphant.
Wednesday December 24 (7:00pm Christmas Eve Candlelight Service)
Hebrews 1:1-14. The Hope Who Came. In Jesus, all the hopes and fears of all the years meet. The infinite God steps into our world as a fragile child — proving once and for all that love wins.
Sunday December 18 (10:00am Holiday Service featuring a congregational choice carol sing)
Psalm 62:1-12. The Hope That Carries Us Forward. After the busyness of the holiday season, we rest in the promise that the same God who began His good work in us will carry it to completion. Sabbath is not idleness — it’s trusting that hope keeps moving even when we pause.
