Family Ministry
We want children and young people to grow into a faith that is genuinely their own. At Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church, Family Ministry is about more than providing programs for children. We want to help families build lives of faith and surround children and youth with a community of people who know them, care about them, and encourage them as they grow.
We believe faith is formed through relationships and experiences as much as through lessons. Children and youth learn about Jesus in Sunday School and Bible study, but they also grow through worship, music, service, mission trips, friendships, prayer, conversations with trusted adults, and simply being part of the life of the church.
Parents and caregivers are the most important influence in a child’s spiritual life, but they don’t have to do it alone. Our congregation seeks to come alongside families, providing relationships, resources, encouragement, and opportunities to explore and practice Christian faith together.
Our Family Ministry includes opportunities for children, teenagers, and families throughout the year, including Sunday morning programs, Vacation Bible School, youth activities, confirmation, children’s music, service and mission experiences, seasonal events, and intergenerational ministries.
Whatever your family’s experience with church has been, there’s room to begin. We want MSPC to be a place where children are known and loved, teenagers can ask real questions, parents can find support, and families can take their next steps of faith together.
